Do you use clonemaker or are you running all from the same base client?

Is this a warning generated by gatekeeper regarding security issues with the tool?

Planeten Schreck wrote:by the way a question regarding the clonemaker.
I didnt use it because it kills my installation before sometimes, i simply login again using "switch to another user".
What is the benefit if i use the clonemaker for my differnt accounts ?
Can i also use a clone for sisis login after the change to download on demand client ?
Clonemaker creates another set of prefs folders but doesn't duplicate an installation. We have a known issue that in certain configurations, whilst multiboxing using a single uncloned installation, closing one client would freeze the other (as mentioned earlier in this thread by Ian Blackbird). Using clones works around that issue without you having to have multiple EVE installs taking up space.
It is possible to use clones for test servers, but this is not recommended as it requires using terminal or bespoke .command files to connect to the server.

Base Client via EVE Launcher. Never used Clonemaker. I'll stick to official CCP-Tools.
OK, if this provides any reassurance, I have extensively tested this version of Clonemaker (provided to us by our partners) and have yet to experience the client crashing when a clone is closed, whereas using the Switch User functionality of the launcher I can still reproduce the issue.

We're in discussions with our partner regarding it, they are aware of the issue and that issue exists on their side. We are endorsing Clonemaker as a solution in the meantime.

That should've been fixed, can I ask you to check a setting for me? System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General tab: What is "Allow applications downloaded from:" set to?

Yeah it was indeed, and I just verified that. I just want to be sure whether they have their setting correctly set to "Mac App Store and identified developers" or not.

Manssell wrote:O.k. I'm a bit confused I thought do to the famous Mac bug where we crash if you download stuff in the background that the Mac wasn't getting the download on demand? I believe a DEV mentioned this a week or so ago in the Sisi feedback thread. So has something changed with the crashing while downloading, or did we just unleash a wave of crashes on newbies who think they can run this on their mac?
We introduced a workaround for that issue. We're hoping that come the next Cider upgrade this will not be an issue at all.

Henry Montclaire wrote:Hey, I have a concern. My internal hard drive is really starved for space, so I have EVE installed on an external hard drive, but it seems like EVE wants to set up this shared resource cache on my internal hard drive. I really don't have room for 12 more GBs of stuff on my internal hard drive. Is there a way to move this cache so it's made on my external drive?
Hi Henry,
You can set the cache location in the Launcher's settings: Cog in top right of launcher > Download tab > Shared Cache Location.
You can then copy the contents of your old shared Cache into that to save on downloading updates again.

Arthur Aihaken wrote:I just wanted to touch base on one anomaly and one longstanding issue on the Mac (I have previously filed bug reports for both).
GÇó Every now and then when I jump through a stargate, after the cycle completes the warp gates disappear. You can still jump, but there is no gate physically present (only the icon in the Overview). In addition, there is no stargate jump sound, no warp animation, warp sound (it's ominously quiet) or stargate cloak after jumping. This is also where you subsequently get the "You cannot navigate that way with the selected object..." error message when you try to dock at a station after completing a jump through a stargate. You have to initiate some movement and then it lets you proceed. Except the station is missing when you arrive, but it still allows you to dock. There 's no fix (docking and undocking doesn't work) short of quitting and reconnecting with the client. The only clue as to the origin that I've been able to ascertain thus far seems to be tied to using the Leopard with Ascendancy implants.
GÇó The "white screen of death" (occasionally light blue or pale yellow, as well). When running PvE missions, at some point during combat the nebula background turns one of these lovely colours. Sometimes it's a 50-50 split, with half the background appearing on the left and the right side completely whiteout. Eventually this corrects itself, although rotating the view to something less intense is the only recourse.
Thanks, Arthur.
I hadn't heard of that Stargate issue before, I'll have a rummage through our Bug Reports and see if I can find it. About the "white screen of death", this is a known issue that we've been able to pin on something going on in Medium/Low shader settings. We've never seen this on High, we are investigating though.
Best,
Sledge.

The clonemaker still wont work on my Mac. I am told its broken the same as I have been for the last week or more.
Why the @#$%^&*() hell hasn't it been fixed
Hi Flitoff,
I have confirmed that it is correctly signed up to Yosemite, can I ask what setting is selected in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General tab: "Allow applications downloaded from:" ?
I've only heard of one other person having a problem with the latest clonemaker, and they haven't replied to my question regarding their security settings.
It would really help to know what OS version you are running on too.
Best,
Sledgehammer.
